Traditional Formats Work. Empty
PostSubject: Traditional Formats Work.   Traditional Formats Work. Icon_minitimeWed Sep 28, 2011 4:05 pm

Why not be creative? Put the index up front and the table of contents at the conclusion? Why not?
Habits Are Helpful
We are every creatures of habit. Actually we benefit from individuals. What a chore it might be to get out of bed every day and get to work if we to think our process through each step, and become sure we did not even overlook one. We have to have our habits. And we don't wish to change them. A book with a title page at the conclusion of it would always be unsettling.
Conformity Is Your Rule
The form and format of most magazines is even further consistent, and rigid. Would a magazine be successful with classified ads beforehand and letters to the editor at the conclusion of it?
Newspapers are much more similar, one to yet another. The emphasis is about the first fold that shows on the newsstand. Headline creation is really a major task. The way stories are written is the same, with the key points up front in case the reader fails to continue.
Take a check out your bookcase. Hardbound books are pretty very similar in height. Paperbacks are even prone to be nearly identical in this regard. You can generally blend pages from different newspapers and find the edges are pretty well aligned. <! -- FEATURE AD ====================================================== -->And how about the type font? Within 9 of 10 circumstances, it will be Conditions Roman, or a close up cousin. And the printed text is bound to be black on white-colored.
Rigid Uniformity
Publishers of books, magazines, and newspapers follow conventions relentlessly. The reason why?
They want their readers to focus on the content, not the logistics of having around in the magazine. And content is the only significant difference between fighting books, magazines, or newspapers.
Since competition is a real contest between contents, publishers don't want deviation elsewhere that might interfere with the impact of the content.
Web Publishers Ought to Follow Suit
The conventions for any website are also appears defined. Fast loading pages that are easy to read. A navigation scheme that's crystal clear in any glance. The same format on every page. Exactly the same format? Hey, that's boring!
Maybe. But it can be conventional. As with printed publications, let nothing in your site detract from content and articles. It works for your 'Wall Street Journal, a 'The Atlantic Monthly, a and Random House. Also it works for other profitable newspaper, magazine, and book publishers. It also works on a website. Let nothing inside your pages detract from content and articles. Then beat the competition with that content, It's the only way to go. <! -- AUTHOR BOX ====================================================== -->Bob McElwain Wish to build a winning internet site?
